Making Mini Meat Loaves with Jamie

Hey y'all!

Jamie came over to make his 'Speedy Mini Meat Loves' recipe from his new book "The Deen Bros - Take It Easy".  You can order it HERE.  I am so proud of him and Bobby, and I hope y'all love their book!

This week's dish was one I love: Meatloaf. A very traditional dish that can be made in so many different ways. That was this week's challenge, to make Meatloaf your own. Let's find out how we did!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA! This is the BEST video you guys have posted. I can sympathize so very much with Jamie, Paula was giving him grief just the way Wifey loves to give it to me! I understood every one of the looks he gave the camera. Just ordered my cookbook tonight, everything I've seen from it looks good!

    I work in a bookstore and I always handsell your cookbooks. I own them all and have made so many of the recipes I could not list them all.  I always handsell your cookbooks and magazines.  Keep it comin' y'all.

  • That was too funny.   I love the Dean Family.   Those mini meatloaves sure looked yummy.   Its making me want to make a meatloaf now since I havent  fixed one in awhile.  Yummy.    Congrats to the winners too.

  • That video was a HOOT!  I`ve made mini meat  loaves for years but I always just shaped em like footballs. Have any of y`all made mini filled meat loaves? I`ve made em stuffed with mac `n cheese or with just a HB egg in the center. My kids loved em.

  • I made this yesterday.  Instead of onions I used these chopped bell pepers, red, yellow, green that come already chopped up (yeah I know lazy)  lol.  Had all the other ingredients and it came out awesome.  Thanks!  :)
  • I made Brooke's meatloaf and it will be hard to beat!  YUM!

Meatloaf Time!

Hey y’all!

This week we’re cookin’ up a dish I just LOVE to make with my boys: Meatloaf. We have such a great time making (and eating) this traditional dish.  Jamie and Bobby are so clever in the kitchen, for their meatloaf, they make these cute little individual portions in a muffin tray. Jamie says that’s how Jack likes to eat his meatloaf. I recommend trying it if you have kids or grandkids. My boys are releasing their new book "The Deen Bros - Take It Easy" next week.  It's all about quick and affordable meals the whole family will love.  You can pre-order it HERE.  I am so proud of them!

But back to this week's dish...

Meatloaf is a wonderful dish for kids; I recommend making some spaghetti and meatballs, but use meatloaf instead.  I challenge you to get creative with your Meatloaf!

Submit photos or videos of you preparing a unique Meatloaf dish. Use your creativity. You can have it be the main part or use it as part of a dish.   We need to see you in some way in the pictures or video to verify that it is your submission.  If you submit a photo, please write up a recipe in your blog. If you don’t know how to upload a blog, picture or video, you can read about it in our FAQ HERE.

Barbecue Meatloaf
Ingredients:

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 cup fresh bread crumbs
1 onion, diced
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 (8-ounce) cans tomato sauce
3 tablespoons vinegar
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup water, to thin sauce if necessary
... Read entire recipe
