Grieving With Laughter - Week 5

  • Grieving With Laughter
    Hey Y’all!

It’s such a sad time to be a fan, isn’t it?  So many wonderful talents have passed away recently; it just breaks my heart.  Michael Jackson, Billy Mays, dear Farrah and more, it’s so traumatic to lose people so abruptly.  That’s what’s been running through my mind, how traumatic death is.

If you read my biography you know that I have a great fear of death.  That fear caused me to have agoraphobia.  I barely left my apartment for close to 20 years.  For so long it was just too hard for me to cope with the idea of dying.  It wasn’t until I finally came to terms with my fear that I was able to go outside, be free of my agoraphobia, and start living my life again.

Death brings such a clear understanding of the frailty of life.  But you know what helps me during times like this?  Laughter.  That’s how I keep my fears at bay, by laughing.  Laughing as much as I can.  I try to surround myself with positive, funny people.  Must be why I love my husband so much, cause hoo boy can Michael tell a good joke (my Brandon isn’t so bad himself!)!

This week on Get Cookin’ we’re not gonna be talking about food.  Instead, I’d like us to try and heal ourselves with laughter.  I’m gonna post some videos of me traveling around that I think are pretty funny.  I hope they can bring some light into your lives.

For the Activity of the Week, I would love it if you all would send in your jokes.  Post a blog of your favorite jokes and flag it as “Cool”.  And if you ask Michael nicely, I’m sure he would oblige us with one or two of his own.  Though they may be a bit dirty!

    Love, Laughter and Best Dishes,

    Paula
