Chat for the Week (11/2-11/8)

  • Wow! It's November already! Where has the year gone?

Hope everybody has a great week!
  • I was just thinking the same thing! Phil and I will be at the Geekend here in Savannah this weekend. Phil is presenting about something with the web, and I'm along to attend other workshops throughout the weekend. I'm pretty excited to get to meet some other fellow geeks and see what new stuff we can learn.

I can't believe another one almost done! I think they go faster just so I age that much faster. I don't get it!! Have fun this weekend, Lisa! The Geekfest sounds like fun for you and Phil!  LT...have a wonderful week yourself! Still hoping that you get some good news soon!!
  • November already! Almost time to start planning the Turkey Day menu. This year it will just be our family. The Duffey clan will be in Lexington but we will stay home because of work schedules. I'm actually looking forward to having a quieter day...and I'll be fixing a lot less food which means a smaller mess to clean up. :)
  • I will be traveling to Virginia once again to spend Thanksgiving with my family. I am praying for warm weather up there this trip. My mom's birthday is Nov. 18th and my sister's in Nov. 17th, and I just can't miss being with them on their birthdays. Life is so short anyway, as you guys said, another year almost gone, and I just can't imagine not spending my mom's birthday with her! She will be 78 this year, but you would never know it. She is "Super Woman" to me! I wrote her a poem for her birthday when I was 23, called it "What MY Mom Means to Me At 23", now she wants another one, I guess to see if all these years later, she means more or less :) She will always be my dearest and best friend in this life and the next one! I am also going to stop in Savannah for a couple of days on the way back to Florida. I enjoyed that so much last year, so I will bring my baby Samanfa, and spend a few days shopping and eating in Savannah!!! Can't wait!!
  • The yr flew by, and now It is tme to start planning Thanksgiving dinner. I think I'm gonna keep it quiet with just me and FH.
  • Donna, Have a safe trip up! Samanfa sure is a beautiful dog. I enjoyed meeting her at Bubba's.
  • Wow! Spent a beautiful weekend in Savannah.  It was a beautiful 85* on Sat.  Got there Friday morning and the first thing we did was go by the Lady and Sons to se if we could get in this time- this was our third trip and we got lucky as there were several seatings available for lunch.  Didn't realize they had dinning rooms on several floors.  We were on the third floor right by a window.  Just wish we'd been lucky enough to see the Deen family too, That would have made it perfect! Luckily I read the local paper online that night and found out there was a big homecoming parade downtown on Sat. morning so we went out to Tybee island to avoid the crowds. Visited city market Sat night to check out the shops and all the people in halloween costumes. A great visit to a lovely city... can't wait to go back
  • Whew!  No football game for us this weekend, its a bi-week.  So no travel to Jacksonville and the kids are busy so its just me and the hubs for the weekend.  We've been so busy, I'll be just thankful to not have to do anything!  I think I'm going to work on my Turkey day menu and maybe take a nap!smiley-laughing.gif
  • Donna H, your mom is so lucky to have you.  I'm really close to my mama too!  Have a great trip!

I will be traveling with the fam to Alexandria, VA to visit my sister for the weekend.  Should be a fun time.

  • Looking forward to starting a new job on Nov 16th. Got the final word yesterday it was mine. I've been out of work due to medical for awhile and looking forward to meeting new friends. This is why I joined the website to meet new friends. I enjoy reading the forum's and keeping up with like minds and people who love the Deen family.
  • Hey y'all!  Got back from Alexandria.  We had a funeral service to attend.  That part was not fun at all.  I got to hang out with my SIL on Friday night and that was a good time.

    Good to meet you Sherry!!!
  • Welcome back Bella. Sorry for your loss. In my family funerals bring people together who haven't seen each other since the last funeral. :(  how sad.
Glad you were able to spend time with family and have a wonderful time under sad circumstances.
